Services / GBP Optimization

Google Business Profile optimization, every lever switched on.

Your profile — not your website — is what shows up when someone nearby searches for what you do. A Google Business Profile optimization service is the work of rebuilding that profile properly: categories, services, photos, posts, Q&A, and reviews, so you can compete for the three map spots where the calls happen.

Most profiles run on two of twelve cylinders.

Google gives every business the same free levers: a primary category and up to nine secondary ones, a services menu, products, a description, photos, weekly posts, questions and answers, attributes, and reviews with responses. Most owners set the name and phone number, pick one category, and never touch the rest. Then they wonder why the practice across town — often with a worse operation — sits above them on the map.

GBP optimization is the unglamorous work of switching every one of those levers on, correctly, and keeping them on. It is the single highest-leverage piece of local search: the profile largely decides who enters the map pack, and the reviews largely decide who gets the call once they're in it.

What gets rebuilt

The full profile, not a once-over.

CAT

Categories & attributes

The primary category is the strongest ranking signal on the profile, and most businesses have the wrong one — or are missing the secondary categories competitors quietly use. I set them from live competitor data in your market, not a generic list.

MENU

Services, products & description

Every service you offer, written the way customers search for it, plus a description that reads like a human wrote it. These fields feed the "justifications" Google shows under your listing — the little lines that win the click.

FRESH

Photos, posts & Q&A

Real photos that outperform stock, a posting cadence Google reads as an active business, and seeded questions answering what every customer asks anyway. Activity is a signal; silence is one too.

REV

Reviews & responses

A simple system to earn reviews from happy customers at the right moment, responses to every one of them, and removal requests for the fake ones. The review gap between you and the top of the pack is usually just consistency.

Month to month

Optimized once, managed always.

Audit the profile end to end against the businesses actually beating you in the pack — categories, services, photos, review velocity — and fix what's costing you positions.

Keep it active: posts, fresh photos, new Q&A, and updated services so Google keeps reading the profile as a living business.

Run the review system: asks that go out at the right moment, a response to every review, and flags on the fake ones dragging your rating.

Watch the competitors: when a rival stuffs keywords in their business name or buys reviews, I report it. Winning the map is also about keeping the cheaters honest.

Report what matters: calls, direction requests, and website taps from the profile — the numbers a business owner actually cares about, monthly.

Where it fits

GBP optimization is the foundation, not the whole house. It's included in every NearFound SEO engagement because the rest of the local SEO program — citations, local pages, links — only compounds once the profile is right.

Who I do this for

Built for owner-operated local businesses.

The same profile playbook, tuned to how each industry's customers actually search:

Med spas · Dental practices · Law firms · CPAs & accountants · HVAC companies · Roofers

Questions

What owners actually ask.

What does a Google Business Profile optimization service cost?
Standalone GBP services typically run $300–$1,500 as a one-time fix, or $200–$500 a month for ongoing management. I don't sell it standalone: profile work is included in the NearFound SEO plan, because an optimized profile without citations, pages, and reviews behind it rarely holds a competitive map pack. Pricing is here, plainly.
Is this the same as Google My Business optimization?
Same thing, newer name. Google renamed Google My Business to Google Business Profile in late 2021, so "GMB optimization" and "GBP optimization" describe identical work. Plenty of agencies still sell it under the old name.
Can't you just optimize it once and be done?
The setup fixes — categories, services, description — are one-time, and they matter. But Google rewards activity: posts, new photos, review velocity, and answered questions all signal a business that's alive. A profile optimized once and abandoned slides back within months, which is why this is managed work, not a drive-by.
My profile is filled out. Why am I still not in the map pack?
"Filled out" and "optimized" are different things — wrong primary category, thin services, and a review gap are invisible to you and obvious to Google. And sometimes the profile is fine but the rest of the foundation is weak, which is exactly why profile work is packaged with the wider local SEO program here.
How fast will I see something move?
Profile fixes are often the fastest lever in local search — category and services corrections can move map visibility in weeks, review momentum builds over one to three months. I won't promise a position by a date; I will show you calls and direction requests from your own profile data every month.
